Mt. Druitt gets a bad rap - it's a suburb in Western Sydney, in the City of Blacktown, known for the large immigrant population and the community housing. I've never been there, and I'm not sure when I'd get the chance to go...
Still, with Sydney house prices the way they are, real estate in Mt. Druitt is still very, very affordable.
$115 000 for a one bedroom apartment with parking.
$219 000 - two bedroom villa, walking distance to shops.
There's a Westfield there, called, appropriately, the Westfield Mt. Druitt. I'm thinking about going there to see if it's any different from Westfield Bondi Junction. They should have the same shops, right?
The good news is that Mt. Druitt has wildlife! A forum poster commented on the location, though:
