Mile End, SA

December 27th 2006 11:15
Mile End is an inner city suburb just 3 km from the Adelaide CBD, surrounded by the suburbs of Thebarton, Torrensville, Cowandilla, Brooklyn Park and Underdale. The suburb “Mile End” was established and named originally for being only a mile from Adelaide. Mile End was farming land until the end of the 1870’s when it was laid out by the South Australian Company in 1880. A large portion of it was sold by Green & Co to the order of the Company in January 1884.
