Getting your real estate back in a divorce
September 7th 2008 02:28
Getting a divorce is a emotionally charged event, full of anger and hostility. It's important to keep a rational state of mind when dealing with the finances, though, as this can have serious outcomes for both parties.
Websites like DivorceHQ is full of advice on how to approach the matter of splitting up the family home. For example, they offer helpful tips to calculating the real estate value, marital vs. non-marital equity and dividing the asset.
SmartDivorce.com offers suggestions with approaching the real estate problems:
"Some questions that you need to answer are:
Should you sell the family home?
Do you keep it until the children are grown?
Should you keep the home and buyout your soon to be ex-spouse, or vice versa?
Can either of you afford to keep it after the divorce?"

Should you keep the home and buyout your soon to be ex-spouse, or vice versa?
Can either of you afford to keep it after the divorce?"
These are mature, adult ways to approach a divorce. After all, you want to separate - you're not trying to make a mortal enemy, nor are you trying to cripple your ex for life.
On the other hand, it's nasty and evil, but a company in Japan is helping women get a bigger piece of the pie by having a paid employee start an affair with the husband, recording everything, then clobbering him in divorce court.
The great pair of legs in the above photo is from the TimesOnline article on this company.
The legs belong to Kyoko, who works for the company, seducing married men whose wives want a profitable divorce:
"Kyoko finished school three years ago. She had seen TV programmes about girls who worked as temptresses and thought that might be a job for her. She found GNC on the internet. In the past three years she has taken on 50 or 60 cases. She works on four or five at a time, which means she could be having sex with all of them.
“It’s fun. I like seeing the underside of life,” she says, “and the money’s very good. I meet different targets every day. I’m not so keen on the old ones and I sometimes get to like the young ones. I sleep with all of them.” As for Mr A, “He’s not so bad. He’s bald, that’s all.”"

The second half of the article reveals that it's not just women looking to bust their husbands... it's men, too. A tall handsome man starts flirting with a rich, married woman - soon, she's asking him to go on a little trip. The companies employees, though, are filming the entire thing.
It's seedy and desperate, not to mention a complete betrayal of trust. But the companies thrive because of the huge demand - and, if your husband/wife flirts back, did you learn something? Was it money well spent?
