The rental situation in Sydney is approaching dire levels... there are so many people looking for properties and so few available spaces. Wealthier renters get properties by offering a higher price, leaving young workers and students out in the cold.
Well, that's supply and demand, I guess. Luckily, I got my apartment due to good planning and a fierce driving skill, getting my application in first.
It's especially tough if you're a student that's come from overseas... with no references, it's hard to find a place, and the increased living costs can tax your financial situation.
How about some free rent in this bedroom?
This family is looking for a female international student to stay with them, do a little housework and play with their young daughter. In exchange, you can stay with them, rent-free.
When you consider that the rent in Woollahra would easily be $150 or more, that's not a bad deal.
In an interesting twist, they'd prefer an international student, with English as a second language, preferring Spanish-speaking or Asian students.
