Located in the lower North Shore of Sydney is the suburb of Cremorne (2090); neighbours to the suburbs of Neutral Bay and Cremorne Point and within six kilometres of the CBD.
The vibrant suburb shares its commercial area centred along Military road with the neighbouring Neutral Bay which includes an array of popular shops, restaurants and cafes. Accessibility to Cremorne is via road (cars and buses) or water (Sydney Ferries runs to the suburb's two wharves).
Cremorne is also home to the historic Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace cinema.
The suburb boasts an eclectic mix of properties including apartment complexes and houses which are more affordable than its harbourside sister suburb of Cremorne Point. This is reflected in the suburb's housing prices in the 12 months leading up to February 2008 with median house and unit prices of $1,300,000 and $565,000 respectively.
This is just slightly higher than the respective median prices for houses ($1,200,000) and units ($500,000) in the surrounding region but still quite some way off the exorbitant prices in Cremorne Point (Houses: $3,170,000; Units: $785,000).
