Balmoral

The suburb of Balmoral (2088) and its picturesque beaches is one of the hidden gems of Sydney. Boasting four separate beaches with beautiful white sand facing east offering gorgeous views of Manly and Clontarf, the beaches are perfect for swimming due to its placid waves.
Neighbour to Mosman in the plush surroundings of the Lower North Shore, the beach is listed as a conservation area on the heritage list. This area includes the beach, promenade, the Esplanade, the rotunda and the Bathers' Pavilion.
The suburb is best accessed by car although public transport (bus only) takes you to within close distance of the conservation area. The area is exclusive yet has a typical Aussie laid-back vibe with a selection of cafes, fish and chips, and two top nosheries (Bathers' Pavilion and Watermark).
Cheap accommodation is not an option in this exclusive suburb and most properties (usually large and beautiful homes) will set you back a handful of million dollars.
Take this near new Corben designed four-bedroom house with free flowing indoor/outdoor living as an example. Boasting two living areas, a large home office and four bedrooms with great separation, plus light-filled interior and excellent cross-ventilation, other highlights include full air-conditioning, 660 bottle temp, controlled wine cellar, C-Bus, CC Security HD, double garage plus store-room and wet-edge pool all set in low maintenance grounds.
This one-of-a-kind property is currently on sale for a cool $4,950,000.
Start dreaming (or saving...fast)!!!

This took me back... what a wonderful expose.
I used to live at Neutral Bay in the late 70's - early 80's, and Balmoral was my weekend beach of preference...They would have big brass bands that played in that rotunda on Sundays too, and you could sit and listen in the lovely fresh air all refreshed from the water ... followed by a long walk along the esplanade in the evening cool ... it was all so magical.
It has a Victorian feel to it, no doubts a classy place to hang out ... and the restaurant was pretty good, although i didn't have a full meal there because it was too expensive - even then ... I can imagine how much it would be now!
We used to head up to The Oaks for lunch instead, another great landmark of the lower north shore.
